Why and How We Recommend Schools
-
MCA recommends schools with a proven track record of supporting student success as measured by retention and graduation rates. Most people aren't aware that only 53% of college students pursuing a four-year degree earn it within 6 years. Also, 28% of freshmen in the U.S. do not continue their studies at their original schools. Colleges typically blame the students' lack of preparation. However, the truth is that some colleges take "under-prepared" freshmen and help them succeed, while other colleges have less success with "well-prepared" freshmen. Also, financial considerations often play a role in student retention rates.
MCA also accounts for the three most important factors that determine the success and happiness of students in college - type and size, location, and competitive level. Schools are classified into one of eleven competitive levels, giving you schools that closely match your academic profile. MCA standards for graduation and retention rates are correlated to those competitive levels. The MCA Program integrates all of these factors, resulting in MCA receiving a US Patent for its college selection system.
